Indoor hurling
The annual indoor hurling and camogie tournament was held recently in Feakle. This event was confined to the middle classes in the school and the boys and girls participating did very well.

Fifth and sixth class play
The musical “Uncle Crumbles Mad Machine” was preformed by the fifth and sixth class in the week leading up to Christmas. There was a special performance for the parents in the Child care Centre. All twenty seven children in the room took part and the result was a colourful extravaganza of music, song, dance and gripping action.

Thanks go especially to Ursula Hogan who assisted with all aspects of the production and also to Veronica Bleach and the staff who were most accommodating in providing a venue.

Santa’s visit
Santa paid a short visit to school just before the holidays. The parents association persuaded him to take some time out of his busy schedule to say hello to the children of Mountshannon School. Needless to say, he was warmly welcomed by the children.

The Xmas Factor
A delightful and topical play- The Xmas factor was preformed by Mrs McClearns second, third and fourth classes during Christmas week. It was h hugely entertaining production with all the characters of the X Factor appearing such as Louis, Simon, Cheryl, and Dannii. It was very well received by all pupils of the school and the parents who came in for a special performance.

Special Achievement
Third class pupil- Luke Sugrue was presented with a Special Achievement Award on the day of the Christmas holidays. Luke received the award in recognition of the wonderful work he does in the school, assisting younger children in morning reading. Well done Luke and congratulations.
