Last month we made clay tiles inspired by Andy Warhol’s Pop Art Movement. We learned about the work of Andy Warhol and emulate his work of clay tiles. We used the element of colour from the Pop Art Movement to paint our clay tiles. We also used a photograph of ourselves and transferred the image onto a clay tile to create our pop art self portraits .we used black outline, bold colours and tones.written by Shane Hickey and EOIN WHELAN
Today 8th of febaury 2nd 3rd and 4th done an experiment of coin cleaning the lemonade and coke we also learned about the Ph scale which tells you how strong an acid is.
On Friday the 1st of February there was a Credit union quiz. four teams from our school went. Two under eleven teams and two under thirteen teams. One of our under eleven teams came joint 3rd .well done to every one 
5th and 6th class has a great day in UL at their Peace Proms practice. They represented the school excellently as always!

Since October Ms Ryan’s class have been doing Ready Set Go maths every Friday morning. This is a really fun and busy hour where children move around to different stations and complete different maths activities. The class have been enjoying it and their progress has been amazing. Below you’ll see some of the activities we have been doing.
Our first projects in Seniors and First class were a big success. The children put in a great effort and showed everything they learned over the month.
Ms Ryan’s room had a fantastic month exploring the theme of Polar Explorers and The Emperor’s Egg. We even had an igloo in the class and were able to re-enact Tom Crean’s expeditions. We got to hear the sound of the magnetic force of the Northern Lights thanks to a recording loaned to us by a parent. We watched penguins diving and swimming and glaciers and icebergs forming. We had great fun during Aistear putting everything we learned into practise.
