On the 24th of June, 5th and 6th class went to the Burren for their school tour.

There they got to pick four activities

experience over the two days that they spent there.

• rock climbing
• Caving
• orentering/per jumping

They were all fun but peir jumping and caving was the best .

Caving was dark but fun at one time we had to go though a small space the space was five feet long we were crawling on our body and are head was sideways. There were really big water falls.

peir jumping was fun but cold the peir was really high.

The Burren was really fun

School Calendar 2019-2020

Today we went to the Dolmen in Bohatch.  We got our parents to drive us to the top of the hill and we walked the rest of the way.Jim Collins told us a bit about the Dolmen and the cist grave it was were interesting.After our teacher,Jim Collins and all of us walked for about 45 mins back to the school. The Dooley’s gave us buns when we passed their house.

 

 

Some of our sixth class students recently entered a poetry contest for the Mountshannon Arts Festival. The winners of the contest were Chantal Zevering and Anù Ní Chuinnieagèin with their poem, Nature Walk, and Zoe Geoghegan with her poem, Wings. Anù, Chantal and Zoe have agreed to let us share their poems on the blog.

Wings;
I wish I had wings to soar the sky,
to whizz around and learn to fly.

I wish I had wings so I could go,
to places far like Tokyo.

I wish I had wings so I could go and see
all the places I could be.

I wish I had wings to feel free
to fly around and feel like me.

Oh, there’s many reasons why,
if only I could fly.

Nature Walk;
Walking in the leaves, crunch-crunch-crunch.
The wind blows through the trees, rustle-rustle-rustle.
I hear the bird singing, chirp-chirp-chirp.
The dear run by, swoosh-swoosh-swoosh.
The guns go in the distance, bang-bang-bang.
Raindrops fall from the trees, drip-drip-drip.
I hear the children scream, giggle-giggle-giggle.
I hear people walking, STOMP-STOMP-STOMP.

The winds are howling

the water is humming

the trees are swaying

the winds are coming

the winds have come and are wrecking havoc

that dreadful day lives were took

The winds have gone without a doubt

On Sunday16-06-19 Caoibhe had an Irish Dancing feis. She came first in preliminary.

She got a trophy three medals and a sash

today 2nd 3rd 4th went to the harbour and we saw 3 barges and we went in all of them . First we went on a barge which was kind of plain  then we went on Aoifes one and it was the best of them . Aoifes was 33m . I think it was build in 19026 and it had such a soft bed then we went to the other boat which I think was the biggest and it was right beside Aofe’s.

Today we went to the  harbour to see a barge.We saw three barges. Barges are boats and they are flat at the bottom so they can carry more cargo and so they can travel on a canal because canals are shallow.Some times mice come on the barge and dogs chase them off   Cats don’t  chase them off because they don’t like water  now a days people spend holidays on barges over the summer instead of using them to carry boxes and cargo

Today we had world meditation day. We meditated in the morning it was fun . We said om and had singing bells we meditate a lot  .

 

Today the 17 of May juniors , seniors , first , second , third and fourth went to wood park our group saw beach trees ash trees and we also found some fly’s on a butter cups.we also picked rhododendrons they can take over a whole forest and we found a feather.

 

             

Today we went to wood park with juniors seniors and 1st we went there to look for wild life

we saw leves flowers and caterpillars. Here is a pic

   

The types of trees we saw were beach and sycamore we also saw a flower called rhododendron
