Thanks to one of our amazing parents, Lynda Dooley, we are delighted to be able to offer Christmas wreaths for sale. The centres cost €12 each and can be ordered by emailing the school at mountshannonns@gmail.com. Wreaths will be available for collection on Thursday the 19th in school or in the evening at our Christmas play in the community hall.

On Friday 06-12-19 our school had a Christmas jumper day. We all wore Christmas Jumpers to raise money for pieta house. We had lots of fun wearing our Christmas jummpers.

Our door has been specifically for CHRISTMAS 4th class (aka us) helped design it we hope you like it.

A while ago we raised over one hundred euros for templestreet hospital by bringing in two euros each we sent it off and we hope it will make a difference

Today the school had brought in shoeboxes for children not as lucky as us.

We’re going to be sending them on Friday.

There full of toys clothes and some had boil sweets.

Thank you to anybody who brought in a shoebox.

Today 2nd 3rd and 4th classes went to see the roadworks in Mountshannon. Today they were putting tar on the road. It was really hot when we went close to the road and the road was sizzling like sausages. After that we went to the Aister afterwards to play hide and seek chain tag. It was really fun.



After conducting a survey of parents and pupils last year. The staff and BOM have identified areas of need in Oral language and created a School Improvement Plan to tackle the concerns. Click on the link below to read it

A student in our school has written a story about the

Brown bull of cooly

 

Once upon a time ulster was ruled by a king and a

queen called ailill and meabh one day ailill boasted he had the best bull in ulster but Queen meabh was jealous and found a better bull in connacht so she offered its owner 50 heifers for his bull but he said No queen meabh was furious and sent her army to steal it then she sent everyone in connacht to sleep but cu chulainn stayed awake😴❌so he fought 1 warrior every day and each time he won until his blood brother finnbhennach was tricked into coming to fight they fought 3 days🌞 during the day they fought and during the night they helped eachother 🌃on the third day cu chulainn found a magical spear and killed him after that cu chulainn new he was dieing too☠️ so he tied himself to a rock ⛰️and died. eventually queen meabh got the bull but the other bull challenged the brown bull 🐂🐃 and the brown bull won  but then its heart burst💔 finally the king and queen🤴👸were equal. 🏳️🏴
